THE PROCESS

Consultation (preliminary procedures and your input)

In your initial consultation, the process of planning and create your Immediate Final Teeth™ begins. This is where you will tell us your ideal results including colour and shape and we will take an x-ray, 3D scan and photos of your current smile. This is the important part of determining exactly how you want your teeth to look. We can customise your teeth however you like including tooth shape and features like adding gaps etc.

Digital smile design

The digital smile design enables us to visualise the planned outcome before the surgery. The first 3D scan is used along with your photos to design a new smile and create a virtual set-up of your new teeth. This is important as this helps the surgeon to determine the appropriate positions of where the implants should be placed.

Surgery

After the removal of teeth (if any) the surgeon will rely on the digital smile design to position the dental implants. Usually 4 implants will be placed, however it could be more (depending on how much stability is needed etc). You can read more about add- ons and additional implants here.

Digital Impressions

Immediately once all of your implants have been placed and the surgery is completed, our restorative team will undertake digital scanning of the dental implants and gum tissue, which determines the precise positions of the implants and can be correlated accordingly to the smile design.

Try in templates and fine tuning

Try-in templates are then created and given to the patient to wear for the night while the Immediate Final Teeth™ are being created. The reasons why we provide try-in templates is to:

  1. Give the patient teeth to wear overnight to help you eat (soft foods) and so if doesn’t feel weird to have nothing in your mouth.
  2. The try-in templates are basically a replica of the real Immediate Final Teeth™, so if the try-in teeth don’t fit properly, we can determine what additional changes and adjustments need to be made. These changes will then be correlated to the Immediate Final Teeth which you will receive the next day.

Production of Immediate Final Teeth

The process of creating the Immediate Final Teeth™ is very intricate and individualised. The custom titanium frame fits the implants with high precision to support the teeth. The artificial teeth are shaped individually and set in wax over the frame according to the digital smile design. The handmade Immediate Final Teeth™ are polished and lots of hard work gets put into the past 24 hours to ensure they are ready the day after surgery.
