Overview
A key part of the All-On-4 Plus® process is the transition from an immediate fixed bridge to a final permanent restoration.
Unlike traditional approaches that may involve removable dentures during healing, All-On-4 Plus® is designed to provide fixed teeth shortly after implant surgery.
The initial bridge supports everyday function and appearance while the implants integrate with the jawbone beneath the surface. During this healing period, the implants gradually stabilise through a biological process known as osseointegration.
Once healing is complete and implant stability is confirmed, the temporary bridge is replaced with a permanent restoration. This final stage involves detailed planning and customisation to improve fit, comfort, appearance, and long-term function.
Permanent restorations are commonly reinforced with materials such as titanium frameworks to support long-term durability and stability.
Will I need to wear removable dentures during the healing process?
In many cases, patients receive a fixed bridge shortly after surgery rather than a removable denture.
How long before permanent teeth are fitted?
Permanent restorations are generally fitted after the implants have fully healed and integrated with the jawbone, which commonly takes several months.
What is the difference between a temporary and a permanent bridge?
The temporary bridge supports function and appearance during healing, while the permanent restoration is custom-designed for long-term fit, strength and aesthetics.
Why is a healing period necessary?
The healing period allows the implants to integrate with the jawbone and develop long-term stability before the final restoration is fitted.
Can I eat normally during healing?
Patients are generally advised to follow a soft-food diet during the early healing stages to reduce pressure on the implants while integration takes place.
What materials are used for permanent teeth?
Permanent restorations may include materials such as titanium frameworks and high-strength prosthetic materials designed for long-term support and function.
